Hurt in an Uber or Lyft crash? More insurance may be available than you think.
Claims for rideshare passengers, drivers, and others hurt in Uber and Lyft accidents in California, Texas, and Florida.
How rideshare insurance works
Uber and Lyft carry commercial insurance that applies while a driver is logged into the app. Coverage is highest from the time a ride is accepted until the passenger gets out. When the app is on but no ride is accepted, lower limits usually apply. With the app off, only the driver’s personal policy usually applies.

Common questions
Can I sue Uber or Lyft directly?
Usually the claim is paid through the company’s insurance policy rather than the company itself. We identify every policy that applies.
I was the rideshare driver. Am I covered?
It depends on whether you were logged in and on a trip. Your personal policy, the company’s policy, and the other driver’s policy may all matter.
What does it cost?
