Cars damaged in a collision

What to do after a crash

  • Get medical care right away, even if you feel fine. Some injuries show up days later.
  • Call the police and get the report number.
  • Photograph the vehicles, the scene, your injuries, and the other driver’s license and insurance card.
  • Get names and phone numbers of witnesses.
  • Don’t give a recorded statement to the other driver’s insurer before talking to a lawyer.

Truck and commercial vehicle crashes

Crashes with tractor-trailers, delivery vans, and company vehicles often involve more than one insurer, federal safety rules, and electronic driving logs that can be overwritten. We move quickly to preserve that evidence.

What you can recover

  • Medical bills, now and in the future
  • Lost wages and lost earning ability
  • Pain and suffering
  • Vehicle repair or replacement

Common questions

Florida is a no-fault state. What does that mean for me?

Florida drivers carry Personal Injury Protection (PIP), which pays part of your medical bills and lost wages regardless of fault, usually up to $10,000. To use PIP you generally must get medical care within 14 days of the crash (Fla. Stat. § 627.736). Serious injuries can still support a claim against the at-fault driver.

The other driver has little or no insurance. Can I still recover?

Often, yes. Uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage on your own policy may pay. We review every policy that could apply.

How much does it cost to hire you?

Injury cases are handled on a contingency fee: no attorney’s fee unless we recover money for you. We explain costs and expenses in writing before you sign.
